We want everyone to be able to look after their pet with DailyTails — including people who use a screen reader, larger text, a keyboard or reduced motion. This statement covers the DailyTails apps and the dailytails.app website.
In the app
The DailyTails apps for iPhone and Android are built to work with the accessibility settings on your phone.
- Text size. Settings, then Text size. Choose from seven sizes, or turn on Follow system to match your phone's text size.
- Screen readers. Buttons, icons and controls are labelled for VoiceOver on iPhone and TalkBack on Android.
- Motion. When Reduce Motion (iPhone) or Remove animations (Android) is on, the app tones down its animations.
- Haptics. Haptic feedback can be turned off in Settings.
- Language. DailyTails is available in English and Simplified Chinese.
On this website
- Pages use real headings, landmarks and labelled controls, so they can be navigated with a screen reader.
- Images have text alternatives, or are marked as decorative when they add nothing to the text.
- Menus, tabs and questions open and close with a keyboard; Escape closes the Pet parents menu.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, the moving photo wheel and other animations stop.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on this website, and to follow the iOS and Android accessibility guidelines in the apps. We have not had an independent audit yet, so some parts may fall short.
Tell us what gets in your way
If something in the app or on this website is hard to use, email [email protected]. Tell us the page or screen, what you were trying to do and, if you use one, your assistive technology. We read every message.
