Delete Your DailyTails Account

This page explains how to delete your DailyTails account and the data associated with it. It applies to the DailyTails mobile app for iOS and Android, operated by DailyTails Inc.

How to delete your account in the app

The fastest way is directly in the app. It takes one tap and removes your account and all synced data:

1. Open the DailyTails app.
2. Go to the Profile tab.
3. Open Account.
4. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

This permanently deletes your account and all synced data from our servers, removes your notification push tokens, and — if you used Sign in with Apple — revokes the app’s connection to your Apple account.

If you can’t access the app

If you have uninstalled the app or can’t sign in, email us at [email protected] from the address associated with your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify your request and delete your account and its data.

What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following synced data is permanently removed from our servers:

• Account identifiers, including the email address and name received from Apple or Google if you signed in with them.
• Pet profiles (name, species, breed, birthday).
• Daily mood and care logs.
• Care reminders.
• Your profile details (name, gender, birthday) and app preferences.
• Pet-chat conversation history.
• Your gem balance and transaction history, owned and applied cosmetic skins, and subscription/entitlement records held on our servers.
• Notification push tokens for your devices.

Pet photos are never uploaded to our servers — they stay on your device and are removed when you delete them in the app or uninstall it.

What is kept, and for how long

• Active servers: your account and synced data are deleted immediately when you delete your account.
• Encrypted backups: residual copies in routine encrypted backups are purged within 30 days.
• Analytics and crash data: usage and crash records are keyed to an opaque account identifier — not your name or email — and are retained for a limited period under Google’s Firebase retention settings.
• Server logs and transaction records: technical request logs and purchase records that we are required to keep for security, fraud prevention, or legal and accounting obligations are retained only as long as required and then deleted.

Purchases (subscriptions and gem packs) are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account settings.
